Mow for Moore
Dyllon Orthman, and eleven-year-old from Dalhart,Texas, spent two months of his summer mowing nearly ninety lawns to raise money for the victims of a tornado in Moore, Oklahoma. "I help them because they need the money, and they help me because it makes me feel good," he said. The idea started when he wanted to bring in $20 for the school fundraiser and his mother, Kristi, told him he could get the $20 from mowing lawns. Now $16,000 later, they are donating every penny to OK Strong, a disaster relief organization that has partnered with FEMA.
"I want to thank everybody who helped me," Dyllon said. "Especially my mom, dad, and sister. We had a lot of fun and laughter."
